45th Reunion Info

DETAILS

POSTED: 1/18/2010

Classmates,

We have finally settled on a hotel. After visiting many locations we have chosen the Marriott in Park Ridge. This a full service Marriott unlike the Courtyard. The other locations were either more money or they didn't provide the unlimited limo service. The rate is $120 per night and is available Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A nice job by Paul Gletow. And you can use Marriott points or certificates if you are in a program like that. When you cal please use this code. STCSTCA

Golf : For those of you who enjoy golf you can play in the Great St. Cecilia Open. It will be scramble or best ball. Girls and boys can play together. It will start about 10 AM and include lunch and the cart. The cost appears to be $ 75.00

Next reunion meeting. The locations is the Rinaldi's in Washington Township, Bergen County. It's now called the Township of Washington. Rae and Joe have given us 3 dates to choose from. We have 2 Thursday's, Feb. 4th and the 11th. We also have a Friday...the 5th. All who can drive to Bergen County are welcome. Its important for us to contact our fellow classmates. There are other discussions to vote on , so please help us do what's best for the class. Please e-mail or call myself or Paul Gletow. My e-mail is _copi7447@aol.com_ (mailto:copi7447@aol.com) , the cell is 732-803-1007. Paul's e-mail is _pjgletow@optonline.com_ (mailto:pjgletow@optonline.com) , his cell is 201-669-6879.

Please if you have comments, questions, suggestions or whatever, please make yourself heard. This is our reunion, so please contribute in any way. You can make it better. Since golf is somewhat of a male sport the ladies may want to have an event during the same time. Thanks for your help.

Classmates, Good day.

Our reunion will be

Saturday, September 18th, 2010.

On Wednesday evening (12/2/2009) we had a reunion meeting to discuss our September 18, 2010 event. Classmates attending were: Paul and Arlene Haug Gletow, Ed and Peg Haggerty Mullins, Bob and Margie Zurla Krebs, Dotty Kelly, Jane Williamson (from Conn.), Pam Nardella, Barbara Bachman, James Romaine, Steve Crovatta, Matt Harold, Rich Conte, Patrick O'Sullivan, Dave Corso, Ron DeBlasio, Fred Emmer and Jack Carroll (Pa.)

The topics of discussion were as follows: Location, Hotels, Badgers, Cutoff date, Shuttles, Golf day, Web site and the final cost.

CUTOFF DATE: FOR DEPOSITS IS MARCH 31ST. So if you are planning on coming please send Dotty Kelly your $25.00 per person deposit. Dotty's doing a great job for us. She gave us a report on Thursday night.

Location: Due to circumstances beyond our control we have switched the event from Season's in Washington Township to The Colonia Inn in Norwood.
Some of you may remember that we had our 20th reunion there. It's owned by our Former classmate (Fr./So. Yrs.) Paul Guarino. One of his managers is Bobby Sullivan who graduated with us. This move has also helped us with the pricing. Paul & Bob love the peer pressure of catering to their own classes needs. The room is great especially for the September time frame.

Hotels: This moved doesn't change the Marriott Courtyard, its still available. But Paul Guarino has some connections that Arlene, Paul & I visited on Thursday afternoon. The will be more to follow on the hotel action. We are trying to get the best bang for our buck. Those of you who have booked the Marriott just stay cool. It will all work out.

Badges: Badge's chairwoman Mary Parker was AWOL. She did explain that she's been reunited with Sabrina (Mickey) Curtin. Mickey and her daughter will be working on the badges. It was all agreed that the person's name should be as large as possible. Thank you Dave Baldwin. We hope Mickey can attend our next meeting. Dotty when you have time please send Mickey your latest update of who is attending.

Shuttles: We are working on various shuttles arrangements in addition to the Marriott Courtyard. If you know that you are coming and will be staying locally and need a shuttle please communicate with us. Thank you.

Golf day: Saturday AM tee off. Paul Guarino and Ed Mullins will work on this project. Again please let us know if you have an interest.... that's boys and girls (Dotty Kelly & Louise Pallotta are 2 of our girls who will be playing).

Web Site: http://www.saints65.com (www.saints65.com). Please visit and register. This site is secured in 3 ways. You must be on the list. Somehow Mary Ann Oates wasn't and e-mailed me and it was taken care of. Two, you then will get access by typing in your e-mail address and password.... which only you know the password. Initially we had some bugs in the system but it seems that Ernie Pirone our web master has worked them out. We thank Ernie BIG time. Paul Marentette has also volunteered to assist Ernie. Lou DiAngelo and I are also helping out. This site can be a lot of fun if we start using it. It has a lot to offer. Please send Dotty Kelly $5.00 for 2 years of web site use if you haven't already.

Final Cost: The Colonia Inn is giving us a happy hour with food and four additional hours of open bar with top shelve liquor Its buffet style with carving stations. The actual menu will be supplied at a later time. We will have a DJ and there is a dance floor. We will have badgers and we hope to get some of our former teachers to come. We have been in touch with Mr. Carey, Ralph Cavalucci and Pete Natalie so far. $85.00 per person will be the fee.

We are trying to get in touch with over 30+ classmates. Recently Ron DeBlasio found John Strohofer and Dave Baldwin got in touch with Ed Lepkowski.

Thanks for everyone's efforts. Please reply with any comments or questions.

Jack Carroll

Classmates,

Hi. As you know your committee met on Thursday evening. We also asked for a reply as to the date that classmates felt would be the most comfortable. Of those who responded over 75% of the class decided the date of our 45th reunion.

Where:

The Colonia Inn in Norwood.

Lodging:

Marriott Courtyard $129.00 per night (Park Ridge). A free shuttle to and from Season's is available. You can also make arrangements to be picked up at the airport by the Marriott. Sunday morning buffet with omelet bar is $ 11.00 .Other hotels I'm sure are available. Check with hotels.com or others. Maybe you might have points to cash in.

Thanks to Ron DeBlasio.

Attire:    Semi-casual. Guys wear no ties unless of course you want to. A sportcoat & shirt
will be standard. Ladies....old prom dresses locked away in closets are
unacceptable. Be comfortable and bring your dancing shoes for the DJ.

DJ :         And yes I will be supplying you with their e-mail address so that you can request
               the songs of your choice.

Options: As previously discussed we plan on having a meeting room setup in the Marriott
as a main point of getting together. As time gets closer , any volunteers with
food, drink or memoriabelar could assist us there. This will start on Friday
afternoon and continue to Sunday morning. Ed Mullins will be setting up a
Saints golf day on Saturday, both boys & girls will be playing.

Payment: At this time we don't have all the cost factors. If you are planning on attending
please send a check to Dotty Kelly for $ 25.00 per person. This will go toward
                 your final payment.
                 Dotty Kelly (Address on File)

Until she sets up the account make it payable to her.

Thanks again for all the assistance we have been getting from our classmates in helping us to get the unfound and unconfirmed number down to about 30+. Please keep your comments coming. Review the class list and e-mail some old friends. If there is a group of you living nearby get together and enjoy some food & drink.
